At its core, The Quickening is a shift in consciousness. You’re no longer operating purely from conditioning, survival patterns, or inherited beliefs. Instead, you begin to see them—clearly, sometimes uncomfortably.
People often describe it as:
- A sudden clarity about who they are (and who they’re not)
- Emotional purging—old wounds surfacing to be released
- A heightened sensitivity to energy, truth, and alignment
- A deep sense that “I can’t go back to who I was.”
It’s not mystical fireworks all the time. Most of it happens quietly, internally—through realizations, breakdowns, and moments of brutal honesty with yourself.
Why it feels intense (and sometimes chaotic)
The Quickening speeds up integration.

September Equinox Message: The Quickening
Dearest ♥ Friends,
It has been some time since I have written about the pre and post-21.12.12 evolutionary trajectory. The main reason is that I have been living it, observing, and feeling a coherent sense of what is continuing to unfold.
The last time I wrote with any in-depth detail of the phenomenon that was/is 21.12.12 was on that very date.
At the beginning of this year, I found myself preoccupied with an all-consuming experience of a ‘Blank Slate’ (scroll back on my Wall to late January/February to read about this) which had unexpectedly presented in my life, immediately following the ‘Great Shift of 2012’.
Recently, I have begun to experience a familiar feeling of a need to ‘push,’ which overtakes me whenever there is something significant I must share about conscious human evolution, as directed by Heavenly and Earth phenomena.
And so I am with an overwhelming need to write about this immensely significant September Equinox.
Here, I shall share the very kernel of gnosis I am sitting with, which reveals the auspicious significance of this date, a gnosis that has been rapidly intensifying these past weeks.
The Quickening – 1999 – 2012: Breakdown to Breakthrough
Part 1:
Many friends of the message of this Work will be aware that between 2009 and 2012, I wrote extensively on the phenomenon that was/is 21.12.12 (for those who missed these writings, you will find in-depth accounts in my book ‘2012: A Clarion Call’ and on my Facebook Wall by scrolling back to pre-21.12.12).
And so, many who are reading this will be familiar with the thirteen-year accelerated evolutionary awakening phase that the Classic Maya termed “The Quickening.”
They predicted this period would commence in 1999 (initiated at the Total Solar Eclipse on August 11, 1999, at 11:11 GMT/UT). The Maya prophesied this window of time would continue for thirteen years, culminating at 11.11 GMT/UT on the December Solstice of 21.12.12.
They heralded “The Quickening” as an unrivaled opportunity for humanity to consciously evolve and spiritually awaken at an unprecedented rate. And so it was that many of us traversed and struggled through the years from 1999 to 2012.
What an intensely transformational, profound, challenging, grueling, and uphill journey that time proved for so many of us. Onwards and upwards, we marched, heads down, sleeves rolled up, knee-deep in the thick of our quagmires, many times feeling the odds were stacked against us.
Taking full advantage of the dispensation that these thirteen years afforded us required that we dared to turn ourselves and our lives inside out and upside down to shine the light of awareness into every dark corner, every nook, and cranny, leaving no stone unturned.
The theme of ‘The Quickening‘ can be summed up in five words – Breakdown to Breakthrough.
Lightworkers And Awakened Ones
Many lightworkers and awakening ones teetered on the very edge of checking out – literally leaving the planet – such as the intensity of the wave after wave of evolutionary challenges that assailed us from every direction.
Loves were lost, friends were lost, homes were lost, jobs were lost, savings were lost, health was lost, sanity was almost lost, the direction was lost, and the steady ground beneath our feet was lost.
The most catalytic line from ‘The Invitation‘ (channeled by Oriah Mountain Dreamer) summed up The Quickening – “I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away” – what a stunning challenge indeed.
The time of ‘The Quickening’ asked us to rise and meet our shadow and our light head-on. This was the ‘eye of the needle’ moment, the ‘gauntlet‘ thrown at our feet by the Higher Realms and our Higher Selves.
It was the Initiation – the Gateway to Liberation.
Some of us crawled, a few walked, and even fewer ran to the 21.12.12 threshold.
As we crossed the ultimate threshold in human history (please read Clarion Call to understand why), many of us felt the full weight of exhaustion and the impact of traumatic past (and future) lives rising to the surface for release through the physical body.
Lifetimes of stories, dramas, patterning, ancestral wounding, genetic programming, and karmic releasing began to shift and dissolve because of the presence of the rare and unprecedented Shift energies and rare astrological events of 2012 (see Clarion Call for a complete list of these), as well as the phenomenon of all timelines converging on 21.12.12.
As 22.12.12 dawned and 2013 followed quickly in its wake, waves of lightworkers awoke to a new perception that begged the question – Where to from here?
The compass of the old paradigm had broken under the immense and utterly transformational energies of The Great Shift, which transported us into an entirely new era. We were standing on new ground. Our compasses were broken, and many experienced a period of disorientation.
Still, more were becoming increasingly aware of an emerging ‘Blank Slate‘ reality in their own lives on which they could write a new story.
As I wrote at the time:
“The time is upon us to write a new story. Not ‘his story’ which is a patriarchal one, or ‘her story’, which is that of the matriarch, yet another ‘story’ entirely – This Story – OUR STORY.”
Another quote I posted at the time was the following:
“The time has come to write a new story for our lives and to let go of those handed down to us by our families and culture. These are not our stories; they do not belong to us. We must now hand them back with love and appreciation and write our own.”
Legions of awakened ones believed that 2013 would be a year that revealed the total transformation of our lives and life on Earth in the most tangible manner.
My stance, pre, and post-21.12.12, have been that although all will appear the same on the surface, at a foundation level, everything will have changed.
September Equinox Conclusion
Since December, I have not written about 21.12.12. I had a deep gnosis that I needed to ‘percolate‘ on the post-shift energies and see where I landed at a felt-sense level before writing further on the individual’s and humanity’s evolutionary journey.
So, I have percolated, and slowly, a deeper understanding anchors my consciousness, albeit piece by piece, like a grand jigsaw. Slowly, the pieces fit into place to reveal a glimpse of the bigger overview and create a clear ‘localized’ picture of where we are.
So, where are we?
