Who Is Brennan Smith?

Brennan Smith is a natural-born cheerleader. He loves people and loves to support organizations that are up to something. He enjoys public speaking, but not as much as he loves being a father. He lived in Los Angeles for 12+ years, where his hypnosis practice first flourished before he moved to the East coast, where he now lives.

“Brennan Smith is one of the most respected hypnotherapists in the global hypnosis community. He is the author of the soon-to-be-released book, The Art of Inspired Action, and writes the Inspired Leadership column on the Huffington Post.

Brennan has been featured as a guest on TV, radio, and teleseminars worldwide, speaking on human potential and life transformation.

He is a member of the invitation-only Association of Transformational Leaders and currently lives on the East coast of the United States with his wife and family.

Hypnosis Reduces Anxiety.

A small research study was conducted at Hampshire Hypnotherapy Centre in England with ten pupils, aged 11 to 16, being treated at the center for emotional and behavioral difficulties related to anxiety.

The students were taught how to self-hypnotize to help them set goals about things they wanted to achieve in their lives and help them work towards these targets.

Mr. Byron said, “It seems to empower the students to change their lives, and it’s not me doing it, it’s them.” and that it produced more significant effects than were seen in students using more traditional relaxation techniques. “There is no doubt it has a tremendous amount to offer.”

After this trial, the students’ teachers said they had seen more changes in the techniques and speculated this might be because the hypnotherapy produced cognitive and emotional changes.

It was concluded that hypnotherapy helped reduce anxiety and feelings of helplessness in students and that the effects of hypnotherapy were greater than those of traditional relaxation techniques.

Hypnosis for abundance

Brennan’s love of science and the brain led him to complete a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kansas in Cellular Biology (with an emphasis on Neurophysiology).

He then completed a 1-year certification in therapeutic hypnosis from the Hypnosis Motivation Institute, where he graduated with Honors and eventually became a teaching staff member.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a term that is often mystifying, misunderstood, or just overcomplicated.

It is used to describe a trance-like state. In reality, we all go in and out of mild “trances” every day; those moments when our minds wander, and we daydream, when we focus intently on something and block everything else out, or when we “zone out” either in front of the television or with a book.

These are all examples of trance-like states and are all safe and natural.

Hypnosis puts you into one of these mild “trance” states purposefully – to send helpful hypnotic suggestions directly into your subconscious mind.

Far from being asleep or unaware, hypnosis is a wakeful state where you are both deeply relaxed yet have a heightened level of suggestibility and focused awareness.

Because of this heightened state of mind, you can use hypnosis to change your self-beliefs and patterns of thinking safely and naturally.

How does hypnosis work?

Hypnosis relaxes you into a state where your brain shifts its activity.

In fact, on a brain scan, a person in hypnosis shows the brainwave activity we experience in the early years of our lives when our minds can sponge up information and immediately integrate it.

This same accelerated learning occurs in hypnosis, bypassing your conscious mind so that your unconscious beliefs and perspectives change quickly and naturally (and it was in your unconscious mind that old limitations and worries were causing you to experience the challenges and discomforts that you’re here to change!)

The hypnotist causes this trance formation by using subtle hypnotic commands to put you into a mild trance, a state where your conscious mind is mainly inactive, direct access to your subconscious mind can be gained, and positive suggestions can be planted.

Because of this, you have no conscious resistance so that changes can be made to long-held belief systems.

Often those belief systems were not beneficial, yet they may have been so familiar to us that we would hang onto them and become “logically” defensive of them.

For example, you might have had a low self-image and wanted to change it, but your fear of the unknown and relative level of “comfort” with thinking in this way made you resist change. This is where you would use hypnosis for self-confidence.

However, with the power of hypnosis, this logical, conscious thinking function is bypassed, and changes are made from within – positive changes that alter your beliefs, how you feel about yourself, and in this example, ultimately, your levels of self-esteem improve.

Which style of hypnosis do they use?

They blend Ericksonian hypnosis, traditional suggestion, visualization, and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) techniques. For the most part, it’s a very indirect form of hypnosis.

Listening to our albums makes you feel like you are just conversing with Brennan, your hypnotist.

There are subtle hypnotic commands embedded in the conversation, and these commands gradually and naturally put you into a trance-like state.

Since you’ll hear Brennan throughout the audio, you may or may not even be aware that you’re gradually drifting deeper and deeper into hypnosis – it’s just so natural.

This indirect, modern approach to hypnosis is safe, effective, and, most importantly, ensures that anyone can be hypnotized.

Hypnosis and Weight Loss

Hypnosis for weight loss is gaining more and more popularity, too – British pop star Lily Allen recently said in a newspaper interview that hypnosis helped her drop four dress sizes!

After the hypnotism, I want to go to the gym every day, otherwise I feel really bad. I just want to get more toned and healthy. I’m really good about everything at the moment — I’ve never been happier.

Lily Alan, in an interview with the Daily Mail

Here are some news stories and scientific studies that show the potential of hypnosis to positively help people lose weight, not only but to keep it off – to have a long-lasting and life-changing effect.

Hypnosis isn’t a mysterious or little-understood phenomenon anymore, it is a scientifically proven tool that can significantly influence weight loss:

Woman loses 55 pounds after being hypnotized to believe she had weight loss surgery

Marion Cornes lost 55 pounds (24.9kg) after being hypnotized to think she had weight-loss surgery!

After five hypnosis sessions, she believed surgeons had placed a gastric band on her stomach, shrinking it to the size of a golf ball. She was hypnotized and talked through every surgery step as if in an operating room.

She said she started losing up to 3 pounds a week immediately after the hypnosis, and she now feels full if she tries to eat anything other than a small portion of food.

“I’ve tried every other diet and exercise plan the world offers,” she said. “I’ve tried tablets, Weight Watchers, Atkins, Slimfast, milkshakes, and even a personal trainer, but none helped me.”
