2013: The End of Days or a New Beginning. As many of you know, I spend as much time watching or listening to information as I do reading it.

A bold, scientific analysis of Mayan teachings and otherworldly predictions and prophecies deals with the end of time in 2012 through a review of economic shifts, technological strides, sunspot cycles, and mass extinction.

After writing my last post about 2012 – A Crossing Over, I came across a video titled 2013- The End of Days or a New Beginning – with host Ian Punnett and Author Marie D. Jones.

Throughout history, many cultures and religions have developed prophecies about the world’s end, also known as “End of Days” prophecies.

These diverse viewpoints offer different interpretations of how and when the world will end, often intertwined with religious beliefs and moral lessons. Here’s a brief overview of some major End of Days prophecies:

Abrahamic Religions:

  • Judaism and Christianity: These traditions share common notions of an apocalyptic period characterized by tribulations, wars, and natural disasters. The Book of Revelation in the Christian Bible describes events like the Four Horsemen, the Antichrist, and the final battle between good and evil.

  • Islam: Islamic End of Days prophecies involve the ظهور (zuhoor), a period of great turmoil leading to the return of the Imam Mahdi and the Day of Judgment. Like other Abrahamic faiths, it emphasizes divine justice and the ultimate triumph of good over evil.

Ancient Civilizations:

  • Mayan Calendar: While often misinterpreted as predicting the “end” of the world in 2012, the Mayan calendar marked the completion of a cycle and the potential for a new beginning. Mayan prophecies are complex and open to interpretation, focusing on cyclical patterns and spiritual awakenings.

  • Norse Mythology: Ragnarok in Norse mythology describes a cataclysmic battle between gods and giants, leading to the world’s destruction and subsequent rebirth. This prophecy emphasizes cyclical death and renewal, similar to other ancient cosmologies.

Eastern Traditions:

  • Hinduism: Kali Yuga represents a period of darkness and decline within a larger cosmic cycle. The Bhagavad Gita mentions Vishnu’s avatars, like Kalki, appearing to restore righteousness in times of great upheaval.

  • Buddhism: While not focused on an apocalyptic end, Buddhist teachings discuss the concept of Samsara, the cycle of suffering and rebirth. Achieving enlightenment is the ultimate goal, leading to liberation from this cycle.

It’s important to remember that End of Days prophecies are widely varied and often open to interpretation. Many scholars view them as symbolic reflections of human anxieties and hopes, urging spiritual reflection and ethical action.

Instead of dwelling on the specifics of each prophecy, it’s more valuable to focus on the common themes they often share:

  • Moral lessons: End of Days narratives often warn about human behavior and the consequences of injustice, greed, and violence.

  • Hope and renewal: Even amidst destruction, many prophecies offer glimpses of hope for a new beginning, emphasizing the potential for positive change and spiritual transformation.

  • Reflection and transformation: These narratives can serve as prompts for reflective thought and action, inspiring us to live ethically and prepare for the unknown future.

The year 2012 loomed large in the collective consciousness as predictions and prophecies hinted at cataclysmic events and the potential end of the world.

From ancient civilizations to modern interpretations, the notion of the end times became a focal point for discussion and speculation.

As we now find ourselves well past the supposed doomsday, it’s worth revisiting the various predictions surrounding 2012 and examining the cultural, scientific, and historical context that fueled these apocalyptic visions.

“2013: The End of Days or a New Beginning?” is a thought-provoking exploration of the aftermath of the much-discussed and anticipated year 2012.

The author, Marie D Jones, takes readers through various scenarios and possibilities, offering a unique perspective on what the world might look like post-2012.

The book is divided into well-organized chapters, each focusing on different aspects of the potential global shifts.

The author covers various topics, including geopolitics, environmental changes, technological advancements, and cultural transformations.

The narrative is presented clearly and engagingly, making it accessible to readers with varying familiarity with the 2012 phenomenon.

One of the strengths of the book is its balanced approach. Instead of succumbing to sensationalism or doomsday predictions, the author provides a nuanced analysis of the potential outcomes.

While acknowledging the significance of 2012 in various cultural and spiritual traditions, the book refrains from making absolute statements about the end of the world.

Instead, it encourages readers to contemplate the potential for a new beginning and the opportunities that may arise from global changes.

The author’s research is evident throughout the book, referencing historical events, scientific theories, and cultural shifts. This lends credibility to the speculative nature of the content, allowing readers to appreciate the depth of the author’s exploration.

Additionally, including diverse perspectives and expert opinions enriches the narrative, giving readers a more comprehensive understanding of the subject.

The writing style is engaging, making complex ideas accessible to a broad audience. The author skillfully weaves together facts, theories, and hypothetical scenarios, creating a narrative that keeps readers engaged from start to finish.

Using vivid imagery and descriptive language adds a layer of immersion to the book, enhancing the overall reading experience.

While the book successfully navigates the speculative nature of its subject matter, some readers may want more concrete conclusions or predictions.

The ambiguity of the scenarios presented might leave some readers yearning for a clearer stance on the author’s beliefs regarding the events of 2012.

Since we survived December 21st, 2012, the next question is – “What Now?”

What are we supposed to do? Who are we supposed to become? What is going to happen next for humanity? This interview helps to answer some of these questions and more.

Things are going to change. Everyone can feel it, and we’re not sure if it comes from the outside, inside, or a bit of both.

2013 would be about balance. We (humanity) are so off-balance now that we will make it even worse in the next four or five years, with 2016 being the tipping point for humankind.

We need a balance between humanity and technology. We need a balance between sustainability and capitalism; we need a balance between protecting our Country and not going out there and building empires.

We need to take care of our people before we go out and try to care for the rest of the World. We lack emotional preparedness for catastrophes.

When 911 happened, we all came together, but then we returned to where we were a few years later. People become isolated again; people don’t talk to their neighbors again.

Government In 2013 & Beyond?

You always want to think of the Government as the authoritative but loving father. But you know we know better. I would love to see a smaller, more effective government entirely representative of the people.

If we don’t change how things are going, we will see the world’s end as we know it. Because we cannot continue with the paradigm we’ve been living with.

How would the government do that?

I don’t think the government will change; people must change it.

What will the role of the Internet be in 2013?

There is a ton of information on the net, and as long as we keep “net neutrality,” it will be fine. Just make sure you follow the source of information.

Even though we may not be connecting with our neighbors, we can connect with people on the other side of the World.

The internet is a great way to get information, not from mainstream media. We can get different viewpoints from different people all over the world.

If some disaster happens, you can’t turn to your friends on the internet, but you can turn to your neighbors if they have extra food and water. Or even a community outreach center.

So even though the internet is an excellent way to create a global village, we must depend on each other locally and in our community.

What’s going to be the role of houses of worship in 2013?

Anytime there is a change, there is an incredible amount of resistance. I see the traditional Western religions that will try to hang onto their power and authority. More and more people are going to become spiritual and not religious.

They will be walking away from the oppressive nature of the prominent three Western religions. But, before that happens, before that transformation, there’s going to be incredible resistance to that.

After 2012, there will be a massive awakening of consciousness (we will see things as they are instead of what we were told they are).

Several signs suggest that someone is experiencing an awakening consciousness. These include:

  • A heightened awareness of the present moment. Awakening people often become more aware of the sights, sounds, and smells around them. They may also become more aware of their thoughts and feelings.

  • A greater sense of connection to all things. People who are awakening often feel a deeper connection to nature, other people, and the universe as a whole.

  • A sense of purpose and meaning in life. Awakening people often feel a sense of purpose and meaning in their lives. They may feel called to make a difference in the world.

  • A loss of fear of death. People who are awakening often lose their fear of death. They may see death as a natural part of life, not something to fear.

We are cleansing and entering the rebirth and transformation of consciousness process. This is the resistance period. The authority figures who don’t want people to awaken to their potential, to their power to create their reality, will hang onto their power more so.

We may see more global conflicts breaking out – More political strife – More religious institutions getting even more fundamentalist, trying to grab onto more people and keep the followers they already have.

Even Mother Earth may become resistant and fight back at some point.

What about technology in 2013?

Self-sustainability will become the norm. Installing solar panels, storing water, having a generator, and planting a garden. Do what you can to become self-sustainable and influence others to do the same.

What other signs do you see that we are going through a transformation now?

Ninety-nine percent of people I talk to tell me that time is speeding up. It goes back to the information and how much stuff we have coming at us now. Have rising stress-related illnesses like anxiety, diabetes, depression, and cancer that are skyrocketing.

Our lives will get busier and faster, which we have to nip in the bud because people won’t have the energy to handle it. (It’s about prioritizing our life and maintaining a balance.) We have so many things to pay attention to now; we are more distracted than ever.

In conclusion, 2013: The End of Days or a New Beginning is a well-researched and engaging exploration of the potential global changes following the events of 2012.

The author’s balanced approach, combined with a captivating writing style, makes this book a compelling read for those interested in contemplating the future of our world.

Whether you approach it as a work of speculative fiction or a thought-provoking analysis, this book will stimulate your imagination and encourage reflection on the possibilities that lie ahead.

Remember that as of today, the world continues after 2012 without experiencing the apocalyptic or transformative events predicted by some interpretations.
